Thorough... too thorough
Date:December 11, 2013
We have lost family worship in this country because it was pictured as a very strict dictation of the shorter or longer or moderate catechism. Excuse my hyperbole but this book, while very thorough is too thorough. There is too much reference to the things of long ago in the Christian faith. While these are good and notable studies, The Catechism, Pilgrim's Progress, and Spurgeon... these are not fresh, these are not addressed to today's mindset and needs. While those may be good for the 'graduate students' of Family Worship, they will not do for even 'advanced' adolescents as recommended. Perhaps others will disagree with me, but I would opt for something simpler that has handles for today's e-readers and contemporary worship songs.
