This comment will put your mind at ease regarding the safety of this Christian toy for children: In response the comment about PVC toys being unsafe: The main concern with PVC products was the pthalate chemical used to harden the plastic. All our products are made from non-pthalate PVC which is the new standard from the government. Safe. I have six children myself and I have no hesitation to allow my children to play with our toys. I teach 3 year-olds in a Bible Study. This is a great tool for teaching that the children can hold and play with. It is sturdy, colorful, and easy for little hands to hold, and, still, a good size for them to watch as I move the pieces during the lesson.

This was a nice playset for my 2 year old at Christmas time. Mostly because of it's durability. The material that the figures are made out of will not shatter or break. The only problem we had was the camel had a slightly bent leg, so he had to be propped up against the stable. Otherwise, my son loved it!

I was some what disappointed with this product when I received it. The baby Jesus looks like a small boy in a straight jacket...There are many pieces to share around when playing with the product.

After looking for a Nativity set for our family we decided on this one so the kids could move them around and tell the story. We love this set and when the first one was missing a wise man Christianbook was quick to ship us a new set. We are very satisfied with this set and the customer service at Christianbook.

This set met my expectations and beyond. The quality of plastic is outstanding and it was a perfect set to use for telling the Christmas story of Baby Jesus. I bought it to use for presenting the story at our family Christmas party to our grandchildren and they loved it.

My granddaughter has been fascinated by our nativity scene ever since she noticed it. Naturally she would want to play with the figurines but we worried about breakage. We purchased this set to play with as she learned the real meaning of Christmas. She loves it and we love to hear the Christmas story in her words as she plays with her nativity set!

Seems to be durable plastic for my rambunctious toddler. Just what I was looking for. I looked at another set (little people) but I was told that they didn't have shepherds so I went with this one. Glad I did.

I bought this for my preschool Sunday School class and I'm very pleased. It is a very sturdy set, perfect for little hands. It encourages young ones to act out the story of our Savior's birth.

I bought this nativity set because it contained all of the important people involved in Christ's birth so that our family could reinact the whole story. Other nativity scenes leave out the angel or the shepherds or the kings. I wanted something complete, accurate, inexpensive, and durable. I would say this is definitely complete and inexpensive, while mostly accurate and durable. My only qualm about the accuracy is that the angels are women. The angel noted in the Bible is named Gabriel, obviously a male. The photo does show female-looking angels, so I did know that before purchasing, but I would be more pleased if the company had made at least one angel more masculine. The quality of the painting is so-so. A little sloppy; one sheep came with only one eye painted (nothing a black marker couldn't fix). As for durability, the material is a bit rubbery and pliable, so it can be dropped (already has!) and not broken. Only the shepherds' staffs and the animals' legs can be bent enough to eventually break. The stable is plastic, so that could break upon dropping. One positive feature is that the pieces are stable, meaning my 2-year-old can make the figurines stand without any trouble, and they don't fall over if the table gets bumped. Overall, I am pleased with this set.

I have to admit after clicking on the close up picture of this set it looks much smaller and infantile. When the box arrived I was immediately impressed. The set is very well made and larger than I expected. An excellent purchase.
These work great as an aide teaching Toddlers Church (probably any Sunday School class).
Joseph, Mary and Baby Jesus are the same throughout this series (of course).
I have used Mary as a stand in for the Bride at the Wedding ceremony and the Adult Jesus for when Jesus turns Wine into Water - And baby Jesus as Moses using the boat as his "bulrush boat" from “Jesus Walks on Water Tales of Glory Play Set”.
So you can see they are versatile and I enjoy now owning the whole series.
At home for Bible Stories these get a lot of use and imagination time in and out of the bath.
