A Beginning Advantage A Reason For Handwriting: Cursive F--Student Worktext, Grade 6
A Reason for Handwriting ® provides a fun, meaningful approach to developing effective handwriting skills. Each lesson is built around a Scripture verse chosen not only for proper letter combinations, but also inspirational content. "Border Sheets" included at the back provide a nice way to showcase their newfound writing skills, and can be shared with others. At the end of each week, children copy their "Verse of the Week" on a sheet chosen from the back of their workbooks, using their creativity to color and decorate it. Recommended for 6th grade. 144 pages, softcover.

I wish I had known about these products when my children were younger and when we first started home schooling. I would definitey have purchased the whole series of books, and used the books all the way through with their handwriting practice. We have enjoyed the scripture practice. Plus, the extra sheets at the back of the books can be saved, or sent to family, or friends to encourage them in their walk with the Lord. I highly recommend these products.

Wish I had used A Reason for Handwriting Cursive since the beginning. It doesn't have all the extra curly cues. I hate curly cues! I love that my son is writing scriptures instead of just words. A Reason for Handwriting does cost more than many handwriting workbooks, but it's worth it.

I had done Italic writing for years with my first two children and had been disappointed with the results. The other problem with using Italic is it made it difficult for them to read the writing of others who use a more traditional style of writing. I recently gave my 17 year old A Reason for Writing and the change was immediate. Her handwriting is lovely and legible. My 13 year old is also using it and she is personally pleased with the results.

It uses the Proverbs to teach handwriting skills, and I am always glad to get two curriculum in one. Bible memory verses and handwriting in one book is an excellent choice.

My 11 year old daughter has worked through about 4 of the Reason for Handwriting series and we like them a lot. The lessons are short for each day, then on day 4 she gets to choose any picture sheet she likes and copies scripture on it to decorate as she chooses. She gets the work done, but gets to be creative as well, and my favorite part is that she is copying God's Word and enjoying it.

As a homeschool mom, I put a lot of emphasis on handwriting. I chose this curriculum because I like the formation, the length of the lessons, and the scripture verses that we use for memory exercises as well. I will say I think the artwork is a little elementry for the age (6th grade) but it's still a great book. I think the children would respond better to a little more mature format.

I like this handwriting book. My son just needed to practice what he has learned and this book has made it easy to do that. I also like the scriptures they learn.
