Review 1 for Following The River: A Vision for Corporate Worship
A Great Book that brings everyone to the same page
Date:August 29, 2012
Simple, the vision of worship expressed in a few pages. I require it to be read by all of my worship team members and volunteers. It paints what we are called to do as leaders and as a congregation. There might be great worship books written in detail but to get everyone on the same page and to have the same vision...this one is it!

Review 2 for Following The River: A Vision for Corporate Worship
Date:January 24, 2009
The best part about this book is how Mr. Sorge is able to allow his heart to come through the pages. I have seldom seen such a pure heart that was so focused on the reality that the worship experience is not on the shoulders of the "performers" but on the congregation as a whole. It was interesting how he was able to bring some clarity to the spontaneous vs. preparation perspectives.I have clearly rated this, however, as a three-star. The reason for this is lack of biblical evidence and support for many of the ideas that he has. While I completely agree with his stance, and I can even point to scripture that supports his views, many of the scripture passages (especially early in the book) seem to be taken out of context and molded into an alternative idea for the book's purpose. I was disappointed with this. If you are a theologian or worship leader looking for some solid, biblical study material to open up the doors of discovery within the Text, you might want to use this text as supplemental. If, however, you want a very encouraging, heart-felt, and blunt honest opinion on how God's people ought to look at worship, this book is for you. I will, no doubt, recommend this book to a friend.
