I liked the way the book is laid out. I can easily refer to the resources I use.

Since I have started following the "diet" (one month), I have lost 10 pounds. I have tried many ways to lose weight but this is the one that actually works for me and is enjoyable. I have focused on getting rid of the foods that do me harm and have started eating those that are good for me. However, I have not given up everything at this point but have started to tweak the diet for what seems to work for me. I have already found out that certain foods cause me to gain, make me irregular and feeling miserable after eating them.

I have not yet started the exercises. In fact, I have had to quit walking this past week because of the snow and ice (backside of 60) and can't afford broken bones. Walking is something I have been doing for some time. Knowing me, I probably will not do the exercises, although I should.

My goal, from the end of December 31, 2014 to December 31, 2015, is to lose 3.5 pounds per month. Halfway through January, I have lost enough to reach my January goal and I am 1/2 pound shy of reaching my February goal in the middle of January!

Another big take-away that I got from reading this book is to only eat when I am hungry. When you start losing the pounds this becomes easier but it is still a problem for me. I am successful for breakfast (I do not get hungry until between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m). I just have 1 1/2 cups of coffee (formerly drank 3-4 cups but don't feel the need now) in the morning when I wake. However, when it is 5:00 p.m. or so my mind tells me that I should be eating while my stomach says I am full. You just feel full longer when eating the right foods for your body.

Following this diet will also make you regular and feel much better (a lot less gas and reflux.) You will know quickly when you have strayed too far off the plan. Many of the foods I thought I would be unable to go without, I no longer miss. I enjoy feeling better and not having problems after eating. I sleep better and my mind actually seems healthier.

I've been following the blood-type diet for over 11 years now, and I needed this book to get recharged on some of the things that I've let myself get lax about. This was exactly the motivation I needed to stay focused -- including the fact that I need to enjoy the process, enjoy the foods I'm eating, and exercise for my body type. And I'm thrilled that the author offers some new products that will help me get back on track and lose the five pounds that have crept on since starting a new job last year. Thanks, Dr. Joe!

The book was not for me....it did not address the issues of concern regarding weight loss .
