I use these as an open book review of the chapter more than a test. I can tell how much information my son actually retained by how quickly he finishes them. If he is looking up every answer then we review the whole chapter again. I like the format. It seems very non-threatening to him.

The tests go along well with the book. They also make it easy to form a study guide or word list for the chapters.

These tests do not cover the main ideas. They ask for picky details which are unnecesary to know. They do not coordinate with the teacher's guide. Their main value is to prove that your child has studied the chapter. They are designed for computer grading, not homeschooling.

Front & back page test, simple multiple choice questions, easy to review for test using these as guide. With projects listed at beginning of chapter and these tests, pretty much everything is covered.
