The Diary of Anne Frank is a real story of a Jewish girl hiding from Nazis during World War II. It is more than a story of war. Anne's diary is exciting, funny, and moving as she writes all of her feelings about herself and the people who stay with her and her family while in hiding. She speaks of how she sees the world through her eyes, and life in general while hiding in The Secret Annex from the world of prejudice and hatred. She is a young girl in a young lady’s body trying to find where she fits in. Anne and her mother do not get along while her father is the only strength she has to cling to. She feels no one understands her and see's her as a child. Anne grows to love and dislike and then love again. Within two years Anne Frank was an ordinary girl in extraordinary times. She survived for a while after her group was caught but not for very long. Anne Frank died in the concentration camp called Bergen Belsen of Typhus within a week of her sister who died of the same thing. Although she is gone Anne's spirit lives on through her diary and in our hearts.
