Customer Reviews for YWAM Publishing Eric Liddell: Something Greater Than Gold

YWAM Publishing Eric Liddell: Something Greater Than Gold

The Christian Heroes: Then & Now series chronicles the true stories of ordinary men and women whose trust in God accomplished extraordinary deeds for his kingdom and glory.

Eric Liddell's refusal earlier that week to run on Sunday in the Olympic 100-meter race has stunned the world. Now his incredible victory in the 400-meter race further strengthened his belief in God's promise, "He who honors Me, I will honor." Years later, Liddell would be tested far beyond mere physical ability as a missionary to China.

For ages 10 and up.

I highly recommend these Christian Heroes, Then and Now series for anyone with young children. We read them before bed and what a difference it has made in our children's lives to hear God's Word lived out in others' lives.

I highly recommend this book. My boys are ages 12-14 and they loved this book. It was a clear story of the missionaries life, and was written in an attention keeping interesting way. Mr. Liddell's life was so amazing it read like a fiction story, but it was completely true! It was a great example of what God can do with a man committed to his service.
