Alfred Publishing Co., Inc. Essentials of Music Theory, Books 1-3

Music sounds lovely. Playing music sounds lovely. But what's behind the sound? Alfred's Essentials of Music Theory workbook features Books 1, 2, and 3 together in one convenient format, and covers everything from the clefs and note lengths to triads and harmonizing melodies in a minor key. Simple lessons explain the concept, show how it looks written out, and concludes with a few comprehension exercises. Ear-training worksheets are provided, however the music CDs for these lessons are sold-separately. 75 lessons; 125 pages, softcover; spiral-bound.

I home-school my son and was having a hard time figuring out what to do for music. I seen the Teachers Key and purchased it thinking I'd just let him use that one. Then he said he'd really like the Student Book. I checked and you had the book with all 3 books in one. Awesome! It matches the teacher book.
He really likes it and is learning a lot from it. He is a wonderful piano player, no lessons it's a gift from God. But he wanted to learn theory. So far this book hits the mark! Once again ... Thank you!

Great Book, had a friend come over and she told me that she was learning similar to what was in the book. Albeit she is attending college and getting her degree in music. She said it was good curriculum all around. So, I am happy with my purchase!

It is a pretty good workbook. It includes the 3 books in one, so you save money. It is self-explanatory, even for me who knew nothing about music theory. And the teacher's manual is very good too. :) I also recommend the CD to practice with this book and have a better understanding of it all. It is needed.
