IVP Connect Galatians: Experiencing the Grace of Christ, John Stott Bible Studies

Have you ever been led astray? Have you been convinced by a dynamic speaker or a persuasive book only to later find out that it was wrong? The new Christians in Galatia were in just such a position when false teachers launched an attack on the gospel of grace and the authority of the apostle Paul. The false teaching centered on faith versus law. What is required of us to be Christians? Again and again in his letter to them Paul directs the Galatians back to Jesus Christ as the one who saves, not our righteous actions.

12 lessons under the guidance of one of the world's leading and most loved Bible teachers and preachers, John Stott, include inductive study, application, commentary, prayer helps, and leader guidelines. You may also want to read John Stott's commentary on Galatians (WW2884).

We used this for our Men's Bible Study...a great mix of straight Bible discussion and interjection from Mr. Stott. We really enjoyed the breakdown of the text.

Your Bible Study on Galatians was very interesting and thought provoking. As the leader of an "older, mixed" group of Christians it has been difficult to find a study series that both opens them up and teaches them things they might not have known before or makes them look at well known verses a different way. Your lessons were short enough that we could have discussions without compromising the lessons. The way that the lessons are broken up into a few verses at a time also allow a more intense study. Having a variety of opinions, the class could still be brought back to the lesson easily with the next question. We have also completed your study on Acts and are now ordering the one on Romans as they were all for staying with the series. Thank you for your questions that make us think about the lives we are living and how we affect the world around us.
