These letters, along with 2 Timothy, are often called "the Pastoral Epistles" because they are concerned with the pastoral care and oversight of local churches. Some of the topics are: doctrine, public worship, pastor, elder, and deacon eligibility, local leadership, social responsibility, and material possessions. In Titus, Paul emphasizes the relationship between doctine and duty, belief and behavior in the church, the home and the world.
Twelve lessons to study under the guidance of beloved pastor and teacher John Stott contain inductive study questions, application, commentary, prayer helps and leader guidelines. More information about the text can be found in Stott's commentary on 1 Timothy & Titus (WW12470).
