Review 1 for The Making of the New Spirituality: The Eclipse of the Western Religious Tradition

No brief description can do this outstanding book justice. Herrick systematically shows the commonalities underlying various non-Christian and liberal Christian traditions. He then contrasts these with the revealed Word of God. There is a lot to ponder in this book and it is quite appropriate for this time in which postmodern approaches to mysticism and religious pluralism are infecting the church. This is one of the few books I consider a must read for contemporary Christians.
