Sometimes talking about Jesus with friends can feel like trying to close a deal on a sales call, pushing something on people they may not really want. But what if we thought of it more like inviting a friend on a spiritual journey? Instead of offering to ease their pain, we invite them to engage more deeply in what is real. Image being free to be yourself and free for the Spirit to work in you. And imagine that it doesn't depend on you alone but that you can be an important part of a witnessing community. Here is your invitation to reimagine what evangelism could be for you.

This is the book I waited for all of my Christian life. I approached witnessing with either dread or an overwhelming sense of obligation, with little if any joy. Desiring to please God in this area and reach out to others in need of hearing the good news kept me searching. So far I've learned that I no longer have to feel like I have to clinch a deal like a used-car salesman, and secondly, that in the context of community we work together to create an atmosphere of belonging that draws the non-Christian into wanting to listen to the message of Christ in the first place; and finally, learning to listen to and follow the leadings of the Holy Spirit as an everyday, natural occurrence. For the first time, I actually feel excited about the "E-Word! Thanks loads.
