Clear, concise and compelling. Very helpful in solidifying my personal faith, and this new knowledge will help me in sharing the faith with those around me as well. An essential book for any serious Christian's bookcase!

I love this book. I am in a bible study using this book as a guide. Our teacher is marvelous. He asks for and lets the Holy Spirit lead our study using the book as a compass to keep us on track. This book is great for new Christians, long time Christians and people searching and questioning God. Hallelujah!

It is an excellent overview of Christianity - I am using it as a witness tool to share with others who are exploring the faith. I lead an ESL program at our church, and gave a copy to each teacher as a basis for sharing. My son, a seminary student, uses the book when he mentors college students, and I needed a book for a Russian friend who is considering Christianity. I am also reading it with a student from Japan who is already a Christian, but returning to her own country where there are few Christians. Interestingly, I found that one of the seminary professors gives it to people who he meets while working out at the YMCA - it is easy to read and clearly points out that Christianity centers on a relationship with Jesus - as Christians we are to be His people.

I am still reading this book, but it is great! It isn't just for Christians; it explains what Christianity is about, focusing a lot of Jesus, so everyone can understand.

Well written in a purposeful and clear style. I have no quips with the content nor extent of this book. Those essential elements and doctrines of Christianity are well spelled out and those wishing yet more clarification or depth can use this book as their important initial step to knowledge. A great book to offer a young believer or to strengthen the nominal. The Trinity while not deliberately outlined, is evident to anyone who has some background in rationality - if all three persons of the Trinity are equal in all respects and all God, then this Doctrine is well represented with many direct quotes from Scripture. I particularly like that Stott reveals those necessary duties of Christians (not for salvation but part of justification). Too often the Christian is informed that naught but his mental assent is needed. Here Stott delineates those crucial outward elements incumbent upon those that claim a true fellowship with Christ!
