Simon Peter was a Galilean fisherman--a rough-and-tumble, ordinary man of no social standing. And yet Jesus chose him to be the "rock: upon which the church would be built. This apparent incongruity begs the question, What does Christ see in you? In his captivating book and Bible Study, Stuart Briscoe imaginatively retells the gospel account of Simon Peter's interactions with the Master. Jesus saw Peter's trememdous potential and used his talents, boldness, and even his mistakes to build his church. But to become everything he was meant to be, he had to leave his fishing nets behind and follow Christ. And now it's your turn. Stuart explores how God wants to use your potential as well--just as He used Peter's.

Our Small Group has chosen this book as our study for the next several weeks, taking a chapter per session. We are only through the intro and first chapter, but have a group consensus that this will be an interesting and informative study of Peter's transformation and spiritual development as it reflects our call, also, to walk with Jesus. It looks good.
