Eerdmans is a very good commentary to use, excellent to use as the handbook. So far it has explaned & answered every thing I have needed to know, how ever, I also believe that there are other commentaries that are as good/better then Eerdmans. But is is an excellent commentary. I have had NO regrets with this book.

Review 2 for Eerdmans Commentary on the Bible

This is lay person friendly without being overly technical. The articles are easy to read and the passage interpretations are well prepared and thought out. After the interpretation, the historical basis, etc. there is normally a few paragraphs on what the reader should learn from the passage. I have to admit a book of this size does look intimadating, but it is written at a level most should understand.
