Great organizational techniques (especially for us older people), but definitely suited for all ages. Strongly recommend this two-book system for memorizing scriptures effectively.

This is an awesome core set of verses to memorize that will stay with you for life. There are so many translations provided in the one box that you will find one that will work for you. The study book is terrific and will help sink in the thought/theme of each verse. If you haven't done scripture memory this is a no-brainer to get you started in what could become a lifetime endeavor.

I have trouble memorizing scripture. As soon as I received the book (program packet) I began to read and put it into practice. To my surprise I was able to memorize five scripture verses in about three days. I didn't eve push my self hard to try and memorize them. I did what the book recommended and here a little and there a little and I had success. I highly recommend it. Silvia Bugarin

I have just started working with the Topical Memory System, and I love it! I have always considered myself someone who just can't memorize anything, but with the tips and organization of the system, I have already memorized several verses. The system focuses on just two verses per week, so even with a toddler and an infant I don't feel pressed for time. The system comes with many different translations, so you can pick which translation you want to memorize and use the other translations to add to the depth of your understanding of each verse. This product is a great way to arm yourself the the sword of God's Word!

The Topical Memory System (TMS) uses a simple technique to teach you how to memorize scriptures that can be recalled during hard times. The kit contains a workbook, booklet of perforated 2½" x 1¾” flashcards and a flashcard holder. Eight different versions of each verse are included in the program. The workbook provides a plan to learn two scriptures a week for thirty weeks. Quizzes, tips, and discussion questions are included with each weekly Bible study.
Although the methods employed in this book are very basic, they actually work shockingly well. When reviewing scripture, the program stresses saying the topic, the reference, the verse, and then the reference again. This will help to categorize the verses as well as ensuring that you can locate the verses in the Bible. Once a set of scriptures have been memorized, it is important to practice them in any spare moments of time that arise.
I am very surprised at the progress I am making with the Topical Memory System. Memorizing information has never been my strong point, but I am actually able to do it with this program. I highly recommend this program to others. It is very easy to jump into and start building your own scripture reservoir. Once I started learning, I found myself repeating scriptures while scrambling eggs or vacuuming. Anyone serious about Bible study should absolutely invest in this program.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from NavPress Publishers as part of their Blogger Review Program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I have put effort into memorizing scripture off and on throughout the years. I have a hard time memorizing, though, and I now know bits, pieces, and paraphrases of many verses. I’m glad that I do, and it has been beneficial to me to have God’s word in my heart, but I have always wished for a more consistent method to commit verses to memory.
When I saw the Topical Memory System, I was eager to try it. Although the Topical Memory System has been around for a number of years, it was new to me.
The core of the system is a set of 60 memory verses printed on cards. I especially like that each of these 60 verses is printed in six different Bible translations, enabling the user to choose his or her preferred translation. I like the NIV, so that is what I am using. There is also a book that explains the system and meditation guides for each of the 60 verses and a vinyl holder for the cards being studied.
The verses are ordered and arranged by topic. For example, the first two verses are under the topic, “Christ the Center.” The next topic is “Obedience to Christ.” It is suggested that two verses be memorized each week, with four days devoted to memorizing the topic, reference, and verses and three days devoted to meditation on the verses and studying them in context.
So far, I am enjoying using the Topical Memory system and am finding it effective. I’ve learned six verses so far and am moving onward. It actually has seemed rather effortless! I’m looking forward to continuing the system and am hopeful that I will eventually make it through all 60 verses.
I received this item free from NavPress in exchange for my honest review.

My daughter, 15, has already memorized the first 2 verses and is thrilled with this gift. While I was in Navigators we were encouraged to memorize verses and it has been a wonderful tool in my life. So excited to see my daughter also see the value in systematically memorizing God's word.

Very clear and easy to follow, the Navigators Topical Memory System is a great aid to embarking on a scripture-memorization plan. I love it. The little cards are helping me to hide God's word in my heart. I memorized one verse a year or two ago, Philippians 4:6-7, and it has jumped to mind in times of trouble and in reaching out to others. Now I wonder why I have not pursued memorizing more scripture sooner! As the workbook promises, scripture memory will help you overcome worry, have victory over sin, and gain confidence in witnessing. God bless you, Navigators!

If you want to put the Word of God in your heart and on your mind, this is the way to do it. This product was first published in 1969 and I believe this is the same system I used when I was a teenager and I'm 48 yrs. old now. It just goes to show that God's Word is relevent and unchanging yesterday, today and forever.
