Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. The Faith of the Christian Church: An Introduction to Theology

This new book offers an engaging, accessible introduction to all the major beliefs of the Christian faith. Writing for readers with no previous background in theology, Tyron Inbody covers the twelve traditional topics of Christian doctrine: theology, revelation, faith, God, creation, suffering and evil, humankind, Jesus Christ, salvation, church, sacraments, and eschatology. The book's user-friendly design and broad-ranging perspective commend it to readers from every church tradition, and the book is ideal for Bible classes, church education, and small groups. Numerous quote boxes and illustrations drawn from popular culture make the text visually interesting, thought-provoking, and enjoyable to read. Inbody's book also includes discussion of subjects not usually covered in introductory volumes, such as creationism, the devil, miracles, prayer, shame, the virgin birth, and more.

here is a medium level intro work on christian theology that is sane, intelligent, well balanced and dependable. a very helpful, and managable book on the subject, Inbody writes clearly, but still communicates in depth on the subject matter. a great volume to study for learning about mature christian theology.
