Wenham is a respected Evangelical Old Testament scholar. He writes well. If anyone is seeking a brief, reliable, and accessible guide to Numbers, this is it. This commentary is brief. It does not attempt a detailed study of the Hebrew language, nor extensive interaction with alternative viewpoints. At one time, it was arguably the best Evangelical commentary on Numbers. This is no longer the case (see R.D. Cole), but is still very good.
