I bought the Bob books for our grandson the summer before he entered kindergarten. He knew his letters and sounds and was eager to learn to read. He was so excited after being able to actually read a "whole" book by himself, it spurred him on to further success. You could just watch the light bulb of understanding go on. The stories are short and simple and build one upon the other. We had so much fun this summer laughing at the silly pictures and stories as he learned to read.

My kindergartener loved these simple books. The words are repetitive, successive and simple. The artwork is VERY basic and in my opinion a little lacking, but I was impressed at how quickly she began to read on her own. Within a few short days she had mastered almost the whole box. There are 12 books in the set and they feel such a sense of accomplishment when they can read all of them on their own!

These books have motivated my son to read. He was getting bored going through the phonics workbook but when I had him read these, they captured and held his interest. He giggled his way through them.

Son asks to read this books, and enjoys being able to sound them out by himself and enjoys the cute pictures.

Good books. My daughter just isn't too interested yet.
