One statement that really hit me was this, "God doesn't want us to play it safe. He doesn't ask us to trust only as a last resort, when we have nothing more to lose. He wants us to trust when we have everything to lose. Ask yourself, How much have I really risked on God in my life? How much have I bet? How much have I invested?" (p. 116)There were two chapters in particular that impacted me (and I will read them over again to really understand it all):1. Chapter 12 ( What We Should Not Expect From God)Williams explains "God's Nonpromises" in such a non-threatening, yet profound way that I am still trying to absorb it all. He states from p. 132 - 141 that we can be sure that "God Nonpromises" the following:a. Perfect Justice On Earthb. Explanations for God's Actionsc. A Problem Free Existenced. Foreknowledge of Life's Twists & Turnse. Warm Fuzzy Feelings2. Chapter 13 (What Can We Expect From God)a. I Will Always Tell You The Truth (even if its painful)b. I Have Always Loved You & Will Never Withdraw My Lovec. I Will Give You Everything You Need To Reach Heavend. I Will Ask Of You Only What You Can Givee. I Will Be With You Alwaysf. I Will Give Meaning To Your Lifeg. I Will Be Your Final RewardWilliams concludes his book with one of my favorite scriptures (a big plus!), Psalm 91 which is a great reminder of how wonderful God is and how much He has done for us!
