I love this Children's Bible. I have purchased a couple different Children's Bibles in the past as gifts. I believe this one is great for Children who are a little bit older and even for adults! So much historical information and pictures. The Introduction section of the book gives tons of information from :The Five Books of Moses, The Dead Sea Scrolls, The Ten Commandments, The Ark of the Covenant and The Tabernacle. Actual photos as well as drawings.

We bought this book for both of our kids when they were young and now get it to give as gifts. The illustrations are beautiful and the extra information is helpful for adults as well as kids.

We give this Bible to our church's second graders every year. The language is perfect for beginning readers. The book grows with the children because there are notes in the margins giving cultural and historical information that help the children understand the stories better. The paper is sturdy and will hold up to heavy use by children. Parents also enjoy reading this book. Although this is not a traditional Bible, it contains the well-loved stories that every child should know.

The illustrations are superb and the layout is very interesting (each story has the main text, archeological notes, annotated drawings, a verse and photos of related places and things). But a couple of aspects to this book make it very awkward for use with children. I was surprised at the selection of stories. It's not really for children. The book includes the gruesome account of Jephthah sacrificing his daughter, Saul's visit to the witch of Endor, and adds graphic details to other stories. For example, "the prophet's bleeding head was carried into the banqueting hall" (The Death of John the Baptist. But the stories of Enoch, Ezekiel, and most of the minor prophets are not mentioned at all. The verses are from the KJV and the stories are generally told in a manner that is not very easy for young children. All in all, however, the book is very thorough, and might be an excellent choice for a catechism text. Thanks to the very informative illustrations, this book would also be a valuable reference text for a church library.

It is a great Bible with wonderful pictures but it is not written so that a 7-year old can easily read it. It is great if a parent reads it to the child - it definitely will open up a dialogue.

This book is perfect for us. We needed something with more detail than a toddler bible, but we are not quite ready for a youth bible. Nice illustrations. Stories are no more than a couple of pages with a good amount of detail for early elementary school. I would highly recomend it for children K-4th grade at least. (Kindergarten Parent)

This Bible has many pictures and a lot of explanations for the children in third grade and above. There are many references to follow which I found helpful for even the Jr. and Sr. high youth.

My children have loved this Bible storybook for years. It's been one of their favorite books that they continue to enjoy. We have owned it for about 5 years. Others we have shown it to have purchased it themselves and for church libraries. Great gift idea!
