sarah303030northern VAAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Re-using these famous figures!November 18, 2019sarah303030northern VAAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Used these with a 4th and 2nd grader on our first use of Story of the World. The kids cut them out (2nd grader was really determined and precise, turns out that his personality), and then they would play with them, act out scenes, take them around the house. These figures survived 2 household moves and 8 years later, my youngest is using them as she works with Sonlight core G and scheduled Story of the World readings. I dug these guys out and I'm pinning them to my wall as we move through our year, kind of a who's who timeline of ancient history. Youngest just told me that seeing these up on the wall really helps her remember why they're famous but also more of her early childhood when she was more of a tagalong on our history lessons as a kindergartener. Plus they're colorful and brighten up my white walls! Wish there was a book with more characters for Vol. II of Story of the World...they overlap a bit but don't line up precisely.

Desert mom5 Stars Out Of 5Fun "Doll" FiguresAugust 23, 2023Desert momQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I bought these when my children were doing "Story of the World, Ancient Times." My kids looked forward to this part of our lesson the most! They would ask if there was a doll figure to go with the lesson we were doing. By the way, there isn't a figure for every lesson, but there are plenty of figures to look forward to. We did this some years ago now and my kids still remember the dolls best. I absolutely recommend them (so do my kids!)

Matt StepanianDallasAge: 35-44Gender: male4 Stars Out Of 5Fun, but pricey..........April 11, 2011Matt StepanianDallasAge: 35-44Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 2Meets Expectations: 4We are using these figures with Sonlight Core 1 this year. The kids really enjoy putting them together and displaying them on the wall! The only drawbacks are: you can't photocopy them and they are expensive for what they are. You'll need to buy one book per student to adhere to copyright laws, and $20 a pop is rather pricey to me for what are essentially "paper dolls".
Also, I have been looking forward to the American History figures expected to come out, and am disappointed to learn there will be only 10 figures in that set for $15 :( Half as many figures for only $5 less. Even less of a value, in my opinion.
I haven't decided yet whether I'll buy the other figures in the future. My kids enjoy them, but it would sure help if the price were closer to $10, OR, if we would be allowed to photocopy them for younger siblings.
