Premillennialism is derived from a literal understanding of the Bible, and Ryrie's book outlines and illustrates the subject with authority. The author, best known for his landmark Study Bible, examines the breadth of scripture to clearly define the premillennialist viewpoint, and by contrast to show its differences with postmillennialism and amillennialism. Touching on issues such as a pre-tribulational rapture, the New Covenant, and the importance of hermeneutics, Ryrie brings a lifetime of scholarship to this subject, clarifying the topic for beginners and adding depth for those coming to the text with a working understanding of it.

This important work of Charles Ryrie was first published in 1953 and remains one of his most important books that he has authored. This book is a revision of his Th.D. dissertation, and provides us a package of the system of premillenial interpretation. Ryrie demonstrates that premillenialism is a system of biblical truth. He also states that premillenialism is the historic faith of the church. No matter what your position is, this is an important work that provides straight forward teaching, that is biblical based to support "The Basis of the Premillenial Faith"
