We have four children & the only one; the youngest is a lefty. She had atrocious penmanship & cursive writing. I have struggle for years trying to help her penmanship improve. Her older sister has beautiful penmanship & cursive. It has been extremely hard for my daughter to see how wonderful her sister writes & how terrible she was. It came to point where she never wanted to write & did her best to never have to. She had given up & no longer tried or cared.
I have spoken to others who are left handed or had children that were left handed. I heard about their struggles; it is hard to be a lefty when the world is a righty. I saw this book when my daughter was 13; she has been working on this book for 6 months now. At first it was a struggle; she didn’t believe it would work & did not want to invest the time. With perseverance she has improved amazingly & has beautiful hand writing she can be proud of. Each page has taken a few days to a little over a week to master so it would become a habit for her. We started at the beginning with the arches & never skipped a page. It seemed silly to her at first & she didn’t put her all into it, but she has come to appreciate all the little details that she has worked on now that she can see the results. She will continue until this book is finished & looks forward to each day’s improvements.
To the two below; I sure you are grateful you did not struggle with your cursive. I am happy for you that you didn’t need this book or suffered as others have suffered in their ability to write neatly & smoothly. I am so thankful this book was made & published. I would recommend it to anyone that needs help. Start at the beginning, don’t skip anything! Make it a habit; I promise you if have a desire & you don’t give up you too can write beautifully. Thank you to all those who made this book possible & for the Christian Book Store for carring it!

I guess I didn't realize that it would make a difference to actually be taught the right way.I feel that I might be able to make a difference in the classrooms that I'm in for my students.

The concept of teaching a left-handed child to write letters that lean to the left is basically ridiculous. As a left-handed adult, I know that I write my letters the same as right-handed people do, because I was taught to do that. You can also teach a right-handed child to slant letters to the left - but why do so? What a left-handed child has to be taught is how to hold the writing implement - a simple enough task - and how to position the paper. If left-handed people taught left-handed children to write, we probably wouldn't have this kind of "backwardness."

Before beginning this book, my then 12 year old son had atrocious handwriting, and I despaired. Once we got this book, we began to see a visible difference within days! I highly recommend it!
