Michelle Darling5 Stars Out Of 5June 30, 2010Michelle DarlingIf you are looking for an overview of the Middle Ages that goes beyond memorizing facts and focuses on 'cause and effect truths' this is it. It does not lay out daily lesson plans but rather gives wonderful insights and commentary paired with a list of the best of related books, audio etc. Great for the teacher that wants the freedom to decide how much time and what extra activites to do for each topic. The banks of the river are still there to guide you but how fast you sail and what 'boat you take' are still up to you. No buyer's remorse here that's for sure.

fourlittlecanadiansCanadaAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent resource (even with younger students)May 9, 2012fourlittlecanadiansCanadaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We recently purchased TruthQuest history middle ages for our history curriculum.
Although our oldest child will be entering grade 5 (recommended start age) there are so many excellent quality suggested resources for kindergarten and up that we will all be able to study together (three K-4 age children).
Each book we have purchased so far, will be kept in our family library and not sold off at curriculum sales! -
Laura5 Stars Out Of 5May 13, 2009LauraThe beauty of the Truthquest series is that it makes us aware of the wealth of excellent literature that was available in bygone eras, and encourages us to seek out the "ancient treaures." Library book sales are a great asset to this guide as so many libraries are discarding excellent books in favor of the politically correct.

Kim ZimmermanTrumansburg, NYAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5December 30, 2008Kim ZimmermanTrumansburg, NYAge: 25-34Gender: femaleThis particular guide needs to be updated. Many of the books listed are out of print or unavailable from our local library or online.I was disappointed with the lack of up-to-date listings. I've had to use a "spine book" - A Child's History of the World by Hillyer and some historical fiction for most of our history reading.
