I was surprised that a lot of what the author wrote I was and have been doing but he did open my eyes and heart to things I had not. I bought a dozen copies and have been giving them away to fathers and mothers in my life. It is a 20 minute read but you will want to read it over and over again.

This was a gift for my son, he works many long hours, missing being with his kids more and wants to be a good Dad, something he didn't have. This little book is great, it's informative, encouraging and is perfect for someone who doesn't have the time or likes to read.

This small, to-the-point book has proven to be an excellent tool for use in our Dads' classes. John Eldredge hits the meaningful points every man needs to hear to know he has what it takes to become the dad God created him to be, whether he had a good example in his own father or not. And it's a great value for the price.

My husband and I are expecting our first child. We have been looking for a book about fatherhood from a Christian perspective. I got this for him as a little gift, and it was wonderful. He was so excited to read it, and I think it really showed the big picture about fatherhood. Most of the other books we've found talk about how to deal with your wife's moodswings and how to make your will. This deals with the most important part of fatherhood, I think. Highly recommend it!

Awesome book that encorages fathers. I really liked this book because it addressed the different needs a boy and a girl need, from their dad. This book is also great for father figures, who may not have biological children. We need to encourage Christian fathers as much as possible, and this book greatly suceeds in that!

I thought this book was fabulous. My daughter's father is not very involved in her life. He has issues with his dad and these issues have unfortunately carried on into his relationship with our daughter. This book touched on alot of these issues. It is short and sweet and to the point. Father's are so important to all of us. This book makes a great Father's Day gift!

The 64 pages contained in this book really do show Daddy's that "You Have What It Takes" when it comes to being the best Daddy to their little girl or their little boy. I read through this in no time and was so amazed at how it captured how a little girl (and eventually the grown daughter) felt and what they needed the most from their Daddy to be grow up and be able to have a successful relationship with other men who comes into their lives. I have given it to my co-workers when they become parents for the first time and have never been amazed at their thankfulness for this wonderful gift. Nor have I been shocked to find that they have passed this gift around to their friends and relatives when they have become parents for the first time. It is a jewel and I wish that it was a giveaway to every individual who has a newborn, whether it is their own or adopted. I have only been able to find it here, on Christianbook.com but I am ever so grateful I found it and I have no doubt you will too when you purchase it.

This is a great book to give to first time fathers or even to those who have been fathers for many years just to encourage them in raising their children or to bring them back to appreciating their children again or their grandchildren.
