Our church remains fascinated with the Ray Vanderlaan "That the World May Know" series. With the historical and geographical backdrop that Ray provides, the meaning of the scripture text jumps off the pages. He brings an emotional connection to all participants in our classes....whether new to Christianity or an experienced veteran of Bible study.

If you are not already familiar with Ray Vander Laan he does an excellent job of weaving together in-depth Biblical and Cutlural studies with practical teaching for the 21st century disciple of Christ. The Discovery Guide is amazing and will really give participants the full experience.
The timing suggestions are unrealistic and there is no way you can cover the discussion time/study times in suggested time frame. You will need at least 90-120 minutes as apposed to the proposed 60 minute time frame. But well worth the investment of time.

My church small group has studied the 7 previous videos in this series and enjoyed and benefitted from them. This video handles the study in a more intense manner which is to be done on a daily basis and does not meet our needs. The video information is great though.
