Banner of Truth Leviticus, Geneva Commentary Series

Although largely unread by modern readers, Bonar points out in this commentary that Leviticus contains more of the very words of God than any other book. This commentary evolved from notes that had been written for the author's own use. It is marked by a simple style that looks at much of the typology found in Leviticus. Largely, it examines that typology with the use of the book of Hebrews, with many references to other books as well. This is a commentary that will make a good addition to any Bible student's library.

I read this work some time ago and subsequently gave Leviticus a personalized sub-title. I now call it the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to the law. This author was blessed and changed my view of Leviticus forever.

Recently while visiting a Caribbean country I read portions of this book in a aprivate library. I was very impressed with the typological perspective. I am very happy to now have my own copy. It has proven to be an extremely valuable resource. It should be considered a must for serious Bible teachers and ministers.

This is one of the most amazing books I have ever read, it is so poetic, so moving. A true treasure chest and it really brings the book of Leviticus into relevance for us today. I never knew the book was so Christ orientated or so worthy of reading for the Church! I love this book, I would save it first in a fire (after my Schofield bible!).
