Perry Mason...with an "edge"
Date:March 28, 2011
Don't be thinking Raymond Burr on this one. This Perry is much "edgier" than the iconic TV version and closer to Erle Stanley Gardner's original. He's not afraid of getting dirty nor is he above stretching the truth when it suits his needs. I surpirsed that this case was actually solved without the "obligatory" courtroom scene.
The acting of the main characters was top notch, although one or two of the supporting cast were a little weak. Don't be scared off by the the language advisory. There were a couple of instances of the "d" word. Overall, an entertaining story and I look forward to listening to more from the Colonial Radio Players.
