This is the first publication of an entire series of Calvin's sermons in the present century. Calvin's Ephesian Sermons, preached on Sundays in 1558-59, were first printed in French in 1562, then in English in 1577. Calvin was a preacher in a very real and authentic way. Because he was the first great modern preacher this material is basic to the history of preaching.

Fantastic! They say John Knox, the great Scottish reformer, had a copy of these sermons by his death bed, I can understand why. This remarkable book is dealt with by a remarkable man, Calvin's preaching power shine through each text, as Spurgeon said, these sermons are priceless!!

Calvin is a pastor of the highest order. It does not take one very long to realize the depth of knowledge and love this great man of the faith had for his Lord. Reading these sermons is a joy for any who take the time. I would highly recommend making time to spend with Calvin on a daily basis.
