Kit Ord5 Stars Out Of 5January 3, 2008Kit OrdThis review was written for They Smell Like Sheep: Spiritual Leadership for the 21st Century. This book should be compulsory reading in every seminary worldwide. The concepts described are so powerful yet so simply described that it is difficult to understand why Pastors, Elders and Christians everywhere have not followed these principles. In Satan's world, "leadership" has been perverted into "having the power and authority to control" rather than being a simple concept of "service".This book is light and easy to read and, while listing references to the Bible, does not clutter up the flow of the text with them.A very highly recommended read!

Travis Irwin5 Stars Out Of 5February 10, 2004Travis IrwinThis review was written for They Smell Like Sheep: Spiritual Leadership for the 21st Century.Americans have little idea what shepherding is. We do, however, understand Madison Avenue and the military. The Bible idea of shepherding must be studied in the context of a foreign culture where shepherding sheep took place. Smell Like Sheep helps the reader to get a biblical (vs. Madison Ave. or military) view of leadership. One learns best from the master/good shepherd. Lynn Anderson is pointing church leaders back to a biblical type of leadership based on service and being among the sheep/other believers. I highly recommend it.

Richard Horn5 Stars Out Of 5July 24, 2008Richard HornThis review was written for They Smell Like Sheep: Spiritual Leadership for the 21st Century. When I first saw the title I thought the book was about the flock. But the author soon made it apparent that it is the pastors who should smell like their sheep through close proximity. I agree with the author that the mission of pastors is to be among the people they care for instead of leading from a corner office. Mr. Anderson's volume 2 in this series builds upon the concepts presented here. If you like these books you will also like "Simple Church: Returning to God's Process for Making Disciples."
