When I first started this book I wasn't certain I would like it. For the first few pages the main character seemed a little too glib and sarcastic. I am so glad I continued reading. The characters in this story are hysterical! I ended up LOVING it. It was both funny and exciting. I was sorry to see it end.

I needed a book that would take me away from the routine of everything and this book was the ticket. The characters were fun and the plot moved quickly with a twist at the end. It was an enjoyable book and I have recommended to 2 of my friends.

Dixie Tanner is from the little town of Kenna Springs, and as a psychologist, she takes pride in knowing she's made a name and good life for herself. That is, until her uncle gives her a call. Recruiting Dixie by taking her shocked silence as acceptance, her uncle talks her into coming home to help solve a murder. Reluctantly, she agrees to help absolve her aunt Connie of murdering her ex-fiance from forty years ago. But when she arrives she finds her relatives have taken things into their own hands. Will they find the murderer before the sheriff finds out what they are all up to? Or will the killer come for anyone who discovers the truth?
The characters in this book are not only charming and endearing, they are hilarious in every sort of way one can possibly imagine. I couldn't help but fall in love with the Tanner family, even in the short time I got to "know" them. While I dearly wish we could all read more books by this author, she has passed from this world to the next. This will, and shall remain, my favorite mystery novel that has just the right touch of everything.

The summary above has the names correct, but not the gist of the plot. Psychologist Dixie Tanner returns home to help her relatives sort out a crisis. Dixie's uncle needs help proving his sister, Connie, is not a murderer. This was a delightful & suspenseful who-dunnit. You will laugh a lot & you won't be able to put it down. The main character is a very likeable young woman with family loyalty & Christian values. You will love meeting Dixie & her eccentric, nutty relatives.

Dixie is part of the crazy Tanner family. She had it all worked out by the time she was eight. She daydreamed she was adopted. Her real parents had fallen on hard times... However, her birth certificate said Tanner. No getting around it.
So when Uncle Rudd called about the murder and hiding the body and that it wasn't Aunt Connie who had killed the man who had jilted her at the altar forty years ago, well, Dr. Dixie J. Tanner, clinical psychologist, drove to her hometown to help “catch the killer.”
What a fun book to read. There are quirky characters, snappy dialogue, and a mystery thrown in.
Unfortunately, we will have no further great books from Teri as she passed away in 2006.
So when Uncle Rudd called about the murder and hiding the body and that it wasn't Aunt Connie who had killed the man who had jilted her at the altar forty years ago, well, Dr. Dixie J. Tanner, clinical psychologist, drove to her hometown to help “catch the killer.”
