Grace comes across as a snotty school teacher who looks down her nose at everyone around her. But Grace is hiding her past. She is supporting her adoptive sister and brothers back in Chicago and is only living on 2 dollars a month! Her other secret her adoptive abusive father finds her and Grace escapes into the wagon of Daniel Reeves. He can’t stand the school teacher and she does not think very highly of him either. Daniel has 5 active boys and Grace does not know how to handle them. After spending the night at Daniels home she is forced to marry him. To top it off a blizzard traps them all together for months! Will these two come to love each other by the time the snow melts or will they drive each other crazy?
This is book two in the Lassoed in Texas series. I enjoyed it and liked how Grace came across being a jerk but deep down she was a nice person.
What I liked: I really like the Reeve boys I kept laughing at their antics and how at first they did not like Grace but slowly they came to call her Ma. It was also fun to watch Grace and Daniel fall in love comedy and all.
What I did not like: The story seemed a little unbelievable at first. They hate each other but it did not take very long for that to change. Grace also went from a timid girl to a spitfire woman really fast and it just seemed like a sudden change. She was also really young and Daniel had to explain everything to her even how babies where made!
Over all I enjoyed this book but it did not quite live up to what I expected. I am interested to read the third book and see how the storyline started in this book develops and blossoms in the next book. This book was quite funny and still a good read.

A fantastic book with a dry humor that kept me laughing nonstop. At the same time, this author hides truths that makes this book wonderfully down to earth revealing a God who accepts us flawed humans and loves us with our shortcomings.

I read book 1 & 2 in this series and they were okay but I would recommend you read both books as together they give a good example of a dysfunctional undisciplined family (book 1) and a more God centered family (book 2) and if you don't read both you miss this lesson and the comparison.

I have finally found an author who likes to make her story funny enough to make me laugh till the tears run. This was the best book I've read with a great sense of humour and I've read hundreds of books from Christianbook.com. I just loved it. Keep it up! I'm looking forward to reading all of your books. The biblical stand point was also very good.
I recommend this book highly if you need a good healthy laugh!

I LOVED this book!!! It made me laugh so hard it brought tears to my eyes. I have read the first one written by Ms. Connealy and enjoyed it as much. I was happy to see that she had written additional books in this series. Can hardly wait to read the third one. Probably won't be able to put that one down either! What a lovely way to exercise our laugh muscles!!! : )

This is a good book, the story line is great; however, I wouldn't let a young girl (or boy) read this one by themself...

I loved this book. I was concerned that it wouldn't live up to the first book in the series (Petticoat Ranch) and it's characters, especially when I realized it was about a character that I wasn't very fond of. Once I received the background information about Grace to discover why she is the was that she is, we became good friends. I was also thrilled to see the likes of Sophie and her girls again in this book. I am the mother of 4 little ones (2 under 2), and I must say that I finished this book in 2 1/2 days. I couldn't put it down. I picked it up every free moment that I found just to read more about Grace, Daniel and their boys. I can't wait to read more about them...I hope that the 3rd book doesn't disappoint.

This is an extremely well written book. I did not read this series in order, but Mary Coneally is such a good writer that you could get by with it. Mary can get you laughing in a couple of sentences. She writes like someone extremely witty would talk. This is a great read.

I loved this book. I found it full of adventure and the kids were so rowdy and how Grace handled them and Daniel as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading it many times again.

I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the book!!! The world needs more fiction that warms the heart and feeds the soul. My mother said she stayed up past midnight to finish it, too, because she couldn't put it down, either. Keep up the good work.

This is really a good book. I asked my mom to order the first one, but before I read my books my mom has to check them out first and she ended up liking it just as much as me and I am fourteen!

I did enjoy being swept away with this entertaining story. It's nice to bring the last story into it so we see what is going on in their lives. I appreciate the scriptural teaching in each one of her books.

I couldn't put this book down! There were many reminders of the fact that we need to be faithful to God in everything and even in bad circumstances He is always with us. I can't wait for the next book in this series!
