I am purchasing this book to update my library as I have the original version Hank wrote several years ago. Therefore, let me be clear that I have not read this "21st century" edition. However, having read Hank's first "Christianity in Crisis", along with several of his other books, let me say, the church needs people like Hank. I have also listened to him over the years on the Bible Answer Man radio program, and he has certainly shown his love for the Lord and the body of Christ. To say he is throwing the "baby out with the bath water" is a lop-sided argument. The One and Only True God is a God of balance, and that means that hard things have to be said at times and Truth isn't always easy to hear (or to speak out). Not only is He a God of love, but He is also a God of wrath - and to be a minister of the Gospel and not share the full nature of who God is will only damage those listening to you. Yes, legalism is damaging too, but to pigeon-hole someone who is saying the tough things is unfair. Doesn't God's word say, " But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."? The Lord is faithful to lead us in all Truth if we are willing to hear - and listen to that still, small voice.

If you are interested in the truth about Christianity and those teachers who have a different Gospel, then this book is for you. Hank does an excellent job of separating truth from error as he examines the unbiblical teachings of Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar, Joyce Meyer, Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin, Frederick Price, T.D. Jakes, Paula White, Juanita Bynum, John Hagee, and others. It is truly an eye-opening book. You will be shocked at what these false teachers have said about God, Jesus, sin, and salvation. You will cry when you read the blasphemous statements by these men who are adored by thousands of their followers. If you are involved in the Word-Faith movement, please keep an open mind and test all things by the Word of God. Use proper Biblical interpretation and see if what Hank says is consistent with the Bible. This book has helped many. (I do not recommend Hank's books on the End Times, including The Apocalypse Code.)

Although this author does bring forth legitimate points in regard to statements made by such persons as Joel Osteen, he "throws the baby out with the bath water." This is typical of mainstream legalists and dogmatic traditionalists. He speaks of how others reduce God and Jesus. I maintain that although some of the pastors and teachers of whom he speaks do de-power God and Jesus, he does likewise, from a a different angle and slant. He is not childlike in his faith and practice, but rather, childish. His approach is just as dangerous as these other men and women. He reduces got to a game of pragmaticism. He is a modern day Pharisee, not a man of childlike faith. There must be balance. He does not possess such. He needs to get alone with God and see who He, meaning God, really is. Much more than this author wants to believe or faith. I agree with him on much of what he shares, but find his message to be equally damaging. God is a God of great power and miracles, and they are available today. Furthermore, generational curses are real. Our linage does matter. Our actions have lasting consequences to the third an fourth generations. Do not quote scripture, until you can legitimately back up what you say. He can only back up part, not all. His opinions are that of basic mainline, mainstream denominationalism, which is dying, not because it is being overtaken by thousands of false prophets, but because it is DEAD. Read this book as a slight basis of understanding some truths, but read with exceptional caution, and absolute Holy Spirit guidance.
