A lay-level exegetical commentary on Romans from the College Press NIV series.
Covering the entire text of Romans, this commentary looks at the book through the translation of the NIV. While the author is well versed in the original languages he uses that knowledge to explain and unpack the English translation of the NIV. The commentary proceeds on a pericope by pericope basis, and the biblical text is boldened throughout at the begining of each section and where needed in each description.
This commentary will be of great benefit to laity and students. It is in-depth and detailed without being technical. It is primarily written from a Roman Catholic point of view.

A Solid Arminian Commentary on Romans
Date:November 5, 2013
The Seeking Disciple
Most biblical commentaries on the book of Romans from a conservative perspective approach the book from a Calvinistic viewpoint. Few realize that there are solid commentaries on Romans from an Arminian perspective it seems but this is one of them (along with Vic Reasoner's, these two are the best Arminian commentaries on Romans).
Dr. Cottrell is a highly regarded scholar and theologian. He is from the Restoration Movement but he does label himself an Arminian and his approach to Romans 9-11 is very much an Arminian approach.
One aspect of Dr. Cottrell's writings is that he does not shy away from tackling difficult passages. His commentary on Romans 5:12-21 is worth the price of this book.
Overall, this is one of the best Arminian commentaries you can buy along with Dr. Vic Reasoner's commentary (his from a Fundamental Wesleyan perspective). You will be blessed by reading this commentary.
