Carlie Geraldson is on the road to Cincinnati, driving cross-country with her children, Josiah and Emily. Her husband, Jeff, just ahead in the rented moving truck, is to be the new pastor at the Bible Union Church in Brownsville. What will the new church be like? Carlie wonders. This book is a fast read but not about a light subject. It raises many questions about the relationship between the church and politics, about race in the U.S., about abortion, about living past tragedy, and about finding one's calling. It would be a very good book for a reading group to discuss.
