Let me start out that over all I am very pleased with the purchase of the "Complete Jewish Bible". It truly opens your eyes to the jewishness of the scriptures. I have always been a big fan of the KJV (poetical feel & authority) and my Interliner Bible (for that true literal read). At first it took a little getting used to the order of the OT writings and looking at the glossary for translations of hebrew words, but you get used to it and soon you are remembering the meanings and even catching yourself speaking hebrew words in prayer. This bible has become my daily reader and the more I read from it the more I am glad I bought it. It seems to bring the OT & NT together more. The only thing I would change really is the cover, I wish it was a little thicker leather. So over all a great buy.

I listen to Tom Bradford on Podcast. It is called Torah class and this is the Bible that he teaches from. It makes it so much easier to follow along using this Bible as he uses pages for reference rather than Chapters and verses. I Am very happy with this Bible and would recommend it to anyone trying to follow the teachings in a Jewish perspective.

I bought the bible hoping to get a reading(in english) that was closer to the original writings. From what little research I have done, this is the closest to the origianl writings as far as I know. However I still read the KJV and NKJV on a regular basis. If it was not for the names of people being in the Hebrew pronounciation I would read this on a regular basis instead as, like I said, it tends to be by far the closest to the original writings that is in english. There is a name reference in the back but I have to keep going back to the reference to see who the scripture is refering to. Makes for unpleasant reading. As for names of the Most High, I did not mind being in the Hebrew cause I was aware of the names of the Most High. If the names of the people were left in english I would make this my main source of study and give it 5 star rating.

most of our modern (mis)translations are based on either the Septuagint or/and Vulgate. I've learned Hebrew is a language like no other, in that it conveys meaning on 4 levels. Sometimes Greek or Latin are unable to fully express by choosing one of the 4, what the richness of the original expresses. David Stern has done an excellent job in his conscientious effort to stay true to the Hebrew text. The inspired writers of the bible were Hebrews, products of immersion in Hebrew culture, including Yeshua / Jesus himself.
I would also recommend the book, "Understanding the Difficult Words of Jesus".

I as a scholar am very pleased with this version. It brings back the Jewish roots of the Old and New Covenants. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a translation that hits the mark on the way the Bible was meant to be written.

I love this Complete Jewish Bible. I owned The Jewish New Testament and I wanted to buy the one with both the New And Old Testament together. I can always count on CBD to have what I am looking for. However, I ordered it in large print and the print did not seem large but when compared to other small print Bibles that I own, it suits me. So I have to say that I truly love it and CBD ships anything quickly. And yes I highly recommend this Bible.

One of my biggest peeves as a student of language has always been the "Romanization" of the Hebrew in the OT, and the poor context of much of the Greek in the NT. This translation addresses both. Not only does it use the correct words and contexts, but it is also "reader friendly" in that it translates to voice well. Many translations are good for study, but sound broken when read aloud. This one works.

This is by far the easiest to read, most understandable version of the Bible I've ever read. This Bible not only provides crystal clear comprehension, but also gives an opportunity to learn a good amount of Biblical Hebrew by use of the large glossary which gives you both the meaning and pronunciation of all the Hebrew words used throughout the Bible. Anyone who enjoys reading different versions of the Bible should add this one to their library.

I bought this for my mom for Mother's Day and she loves it! We were surprised that the names of God were not in Hebrew, though. That would have been a nice touch. But other than that, she's very happy with it. The print is large but not huge, making it perfect for when her eyes are tired at the end of a long day.
