NavPress Funding Your Ministry

How many called and enthusiastic potential missionaries never make it to the field because they are scared off by having to raise support? How many Christian leaders abandon ministry plans because of fundraising frustration.

This book addresses the obstacles for those who raise personal support and those who send them. Whether you are experienced at fundraising or just starting out, Funding Your Ministry will help answer your questions and put you on the biblical path for recruiting and maintaining donor support.

Also intended for pastors, Christian leaders, missions-committee members, and others interested in helping missionaries become fully funded, Funding Your Ministry is written from the author's own struggles, failures, and victories. Scott Morton, on staff with the Navigators since 1970, began his fundraising journey in the second year of his ministry. Frustrated by living at 60% of their budget, his wife gently challenged him: "Are you going to support this family or not?" Since discovering for himself the biblical attitudes and skills needed to raise personal support, Morton has helped hundreds of other missionaries and ministry leaders turn their fundraising around through the Navigators' popular fundraising schools.

Funding Your Ministry is a book that helps missionaries to see raising support as part of their ministry and the biblical basis behind giving. Morton like most authors of fund raising books starts with the biblical basis of fund raising for ministry. The book takes all the fears and myths of fundraising and shows how to face them head on. He uses personal illustrations and stories from Navigator's missionaries who have had to raise their support. The book is comprehensive in the different situations that a missionary can be in from single to married, from local to abroad. Scott shows that no matter what family type you have and amount of time that you have it is possible to raise a support team. Littered with witty cartoons to drive home the point and helpful resource forms this book can help any missionary build a strong foundation for raising their financial support and prayer partners. I recommend this book for all missionaries whether they are just starting or are fully funded the tools in this book can fill out any missionaries toolbox.
