While my personal library has several Bible translations; I did not have an "Amplified" version. This is a nice way to add it to your library. A friend of mine quotes from it and I read a devotional that extracts passages from it.

This is an awesome way to see the differences in each version. It is so nice to be able to see all four versions side by side to compare. Nice to not have to flip through 4 different books. Great value for the $!!

I purchased the Amplified, KJV, NASB, & NIV Comparative Study Bible Hardcover as a "request" birthday gift for a saint who graciously hosts a bimonthly Bible study in her home. She absolutely LOVED the "4-way Bible" and said it would help clear up the clutter in her area during her study time. This book is something that I use when I'm studying the Scriptures in just that mode-study. I don't use it for devotional uses, I tend to use a study bible for that. But more for mostly intellectual reading; to try to squeeze every bit of meaning from these four translations of the Bible. One of the best features this volume has is the four translations all on the open spread two pages-no need to flip back & forth. This is STRICTLY a scripture-only Bible. It does have notes, mostly with the Amplified version, at the bottom of the page. There are no study notes, concordance, & etc. But for what it's intended for, and I liked the price, it does what it should-open up more of the true meaning of God's Word, and make even the newest Christian able to much more easily glean the subtle nuances & meanings of what the writers meant to be understood. Just a good, solid tool to enhance one's comprehension of the orginal Hebrew & Greek. I heartily recommend this Bible to anyone wishing to get a better handle of his or her comprehension of Scripture.

This four-way Bible is a rich, rich garden of God's word in one volume. It's opening to me a range of vibrant, unanticipated dimensions of meaning in Scripture.
Physically, the pages are in standard double-column format, with the four versions presented side-by-side across each two-page spread in the following order: KJV, Amplified, NASB, NIV. (I've always been a bit leery of the NIV alone, but it makes a fine enhancement to these other more literal translations.) The print is small but clear, and the overall size on the large side, as is to be expected with four Bibles in one. This is definitely no pocket-sized Bible, but it's an easy fit in any bookbag. Very convenient for a table, desk, or lap. The quality is up to Zondervan's usual high standard.
This is a no-frills Bible. Jesus' words are not in red as some appreciate. There are helpful footnotes but no index, glossary, concordance, maps, etc. It's "sola Scriptura," if you will.
As to value, at about $31.00 including shipping, I'd say this is an amazing bargain on a very rewarding Bible-reading experience and an invaluable study resource.

I love having the option of comparing between versions of a text in the bible for greater understanding and better clarity and so I bought this bible. It is the best I have used as it is 4 in 1. Serves the purpose especially if am preparing a sermon or doing bible exposition. Just love it. My friends laugh when they see me with it in church coz it is so big in their perspective but I laugh back to join in the laugh and also because they don't seem to understand actually it's so small compared to what I plan to buy in the future.

One of the best Bible tools I've found. The King James gives you an ancient feel because of it's language, the Amplified gives you a more explicit meaning to the text, the New American Standard gives you a word for word version and the New International gives you an easier way to understand without losing the purity of the text. It helps me very much to know the true meaning of the text and not fall into falsely interpreting texts. I recommend it to anyone who wants to study or simply to read the Bible. Plus the price is a steal!

I bought this Bible expecting it to remain at home as only a 'reference' type Bible...what a shock to find that I am enjoying too much to leave at home.
It has become my primary, carry with me, Bible.
