Herald Press Against the Death Penalty: Christian and Secular Arguments Against Capital Punishment

Drawing on Old and New Testament resources as well as secular arguments, Gardner C. Hanks shows that the death penalty harms rather than helps any quest for a just, humane society. He demonstrates through research data that the death penalty is an ineffective crime-fighting tool.

This book blatantly defies the word of God. There are no Christianarguments for opposing the death penalty. God's position is clearly stated in Genesis 9:6--"Who so sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man."
