If you have ever wanted a study Bible, then look no further. This Bible contains ALL the average Bible student will ever need. If you enjoy and love the KJV or the NKJV, then this is the last Bible you will ever need at least till you wear it out from using it.

The only draw back is the weight and size of the large print edition. It weighs about 5 pounds and is a little bit larger than a carry Bible for most people. Even with that I would still BUY anothet one QUICKLY since I love being able to see the print better and the notes are the same size as the print. The large Bible is a 10 point font while their carry Bible is 8.5 font. It really depends on a persons taste as to the size they carry. But again, if you are looking for a Study Bible, then stop you have found it.

This Bible's study notes was done by a man full of the Spirit if God, not academics. I have other Study Bibles that are good, that are written by academic scholars, the history along with facts about the past is very well done. But they DO NOT hold a candle in comparison to the Dakes for your spiritual growth.

i have many bibles in my 10,000 volume evangelical library but my Dake's Study Bible. the "large print" edition, is by far my favorite, even over my Thompson Chain that i started studying from 40 years ago. i discovered Dake's about 5 years ago and love reading it. The study notes go into depth unlike a lot of other "study" bibles that offer skimpy comments; Dake's is definitely designed for a more scholarly approach to God's Word. Dake is also a scholar fundamental modern Christians can embrace and his insights are rich and full, creating a more fruitful bible reading experience. The Dake's Study Bible is big, though, and feels like carrying a family bible with you into the pulpit - it weighs as much as a gallon of milk - but so much wonderful scholarship couldn't be packed in without a trade off in size and weight. i actually have two of the large print Dake's Study Bibles but i have bought more as it is the premier gift i give my preaching friends. This is the 5th Dake Bible i have purchased in the last 15 years or so..it's unfortunate that it's no longer available in genuine leather however the Bonded leather large print is very good quality which was a pleasant surprise. i understand that some Christians take issue with some of Finis Dakes theology but there's so much more here than just study notes and opinions. The Dake Study Bible is chalked full of facts. The cross references alone are amazing and far exceed those of other bibles that are solely reference based. I would highly recommend this bible to anyone who loves God's word and can appreciate all the meat this bible has to offer...regardless of a few bones to spit out along the way. The Dake Annotated Reference Bible along with The Thompson Chain Reference Bible are far and away my two favorite bibles hands down....

I have studied this bible since 1976 and still have the original version (as I purchased) in which I read from. I have spent countless hours in research and study and find that this bible has been so invaluable that it is oft times hard to put down. I am sure that a current version would probably be more up to date with so called current events but the Word NEVER changes, and for me, THAT is what is important.

I would most readily agree with the combination of the bible and the companion God's Plan for Man for the student of serious study with an intent to learn more of the One who made it all happen.

I am no expert. Just a ordinary Bible lover who so far is delighted with this Bible. The only thing I should have done was buy a cover when I bought this Bible. It is quite heavy and big but the print is wonderful. I saw a regular print Dakes years ago but I knew even then regular print was too small for me. I also could have saved some money if I had purchased a slightly imperfect one, but alas I was too slow and missed my opprotunity.

Still it is alot less money on Christian book.

The leather is bonded but feels good. The paper is a nice white. However it is red letter and I wish for me it was all black letter because black is easier to see.

There hasn't been enough time to evaluate the notes, but I am sure there is good in them or the Dake Bible wouldn't have stayed in print otherwise.
