Paulist Press Now That You Are a Catholic:Informal Guide To Catholic Customs,Tradition & Practices Revised

If you are a new Catholic you'll find Father Kenny's friendly and helpful book a practical--and enjoyable--introduction to the occasionally overwhelming world of day-to-day life in the Roman Catholic Church. Father Kenny draws on his years of experience as a pastor, campus minister and chaplain to help explain, clarify and introduce you to the Church you've recently become a member of. This book will assist you in the most important matters of your faith--including how to join a parish, how to go to confession, how to pray the rosary, and how to make sense of the Church's liturgical calendar. A collection of common Catholic prayers comprises the Appendix.

I got this book for my husband who just converted to the Catholic faith this past Easter. He absolutely loved it. The chapters are short and easy to read and the information is easy to understand. He said it was such a help as it explained so many things is a simple way without getting too theological. He said some of the little things that we "cradle Catholics" take for granted were talked about. Things in the mass, organizations. traditions, prayers and the like. We have since ordered more copies for the next RCIA class at our parish in the hopes of helping them along. I would recommend this book for anyone who wants to know more about the "weird and scary" Catholic faith.
