Swindoll gives practical instructions on building character and developing leadership. He provides 15 helpful topical lessons based upon the Book of Nehemiah. As is typical for this author, the volume is well written and a beneficial read.

Read this book over 15 years ago (when it first came out) and I still recommend this book to anyone wanting to really focus their prayer life. It is a very good read and an easy study. Leaders need to stay the course when things get tough and sometimes out of sorts. This book will help you with ideas on knowing how to handle those situations.

I purchased this book as a requirement for a college class that I am taking. I would recommend this book to others in managemant and leadership positions, especially pastors. It contains good insight and encouraging words that will stay with you.

This is a good book by one of the more famous pastors in America. (I would not say its a great book, just because a great book, in my mind, is heavy in content and would be a slower read, but this is still a good book.) A few wonderful insights into Nehemiah's character and many practical suggestions about how we can learn to pray, organize, stand strong, and encourage like Nehemiah did so long ago.
