Rosetta Stone Rosetta Stone Latin American Spanish Level 1 with Audio Companion Homeschool Edition, Version 3

Rosetta Stone's interactive, immersion-method course has helped thousands of students to easily master a new language. Vivid imagery, native voices, and real-life exercises foster speaking, understanding, reading and writing intuitively from the first exercise to the last, while speech recognition technology provides instant feedback and improved pronunciation. Grammar and spelling components build comprehensive skills, while real-life simulated conversations test fluency.

Rosetta Stone students progress independently at their own pace. Parents can choose whether to use a preloaded lesson plan or full-year curriculum track, create their own lessons, or use an alternate program to focus on specific skills such as listening & speaking or reading & writing. Students are tested periodically, automatically advancing as their scores improve through reviewing weaker areas. At the completion of a unit, students complete a "Milestone Activity" in which they must speak into the microphone and participate in a conversation. The built-in reporting tool gives parents the ability to view, print and export student results, including completed exercises, current lesson progress, scores, and time spent learning.

Rosetta Stone also includes an audio companion! Reinforce your language skills anywhere, anytime with five audio activities that correspond with the computer lessons and provide additional conversation practice. At home or on the go, you can redeem the time by improving your pronunciation, vocabulary, phrases, speaking & conversation skills. MP3 Files.

Rosetta Stone Spanish (Latin American) Level 1, Homeschool Edition, Version 3 provides instruction in basic conversational skills, greetings and introductions, colors, adjectives, numbers, prepositions, definite & indefinite articles, singular & plural nouns, family relations, the five senses and time of day.

    My fellow homeschoolers,
After taking Spanish courses for many years in high school and college, I was only able to understand the language but not speak it fluently. I decided to take advantage of the free trial through the military and fell in love. Now I have both a formal understanding and can speak fluent Spanish with my Hispanic colleagues. My daughters, who were 5 & 9 at the time, picked up many of the sentences instantly.
To clear up the confusion, bebe' (with an accent on the last "E") means baby, while bebe (without the accent means to drink.) Therefore it has dual meaning depending on its context.
Bebe (drink) stems from the verb beber (to drink)
You must understand that Rosetta is an immersion program and will not go through an in-depth formal syntax, but you will learn how to say these sentences accurately.

The program teaches that the word bebe means drink, it really means baby. I happen to have a spanish/english dictionary. The word for drink is beber. They have taken the letter r off other words as well. They teach that the word come means eat but it should be comer. Corre means run but should be spelled correr. I do not know why they would leave off the r. It is a big difference with bebe=baby and beber=drink. I tried to call and talk to someone and was put on hold for 45 min. i hung up. I am sorry i wasted my money on this. Lord knows i dont have alot!

I ordered Rosetta Stone Latin American Spanish Level 1 with Audio Companion Homeschool Edition, Version 3 for my 14 year old daughter. We are just now getting into the program, but so far she not only loves it, but seems to be learning at an amazing speed. We will see where we are when we finish the program. I am looking forward to level 2!

Not only is Rosetta Stone correcting my less than precise Spanish accent, but my kids (7 and 10) fight over using it. I highly recommend this product.

I was very pleased to be able to obtain this course at such a reasonable price. I took Latin in school and have been working at self-teaching myself Greek and Hebrew. I decided to add Spanish to the list. Since Spanish is so similar to Latin, I discovered that I was able to negotiate WRITTEN Spanish - but became totally lost whenever people were SPEAKING Spanish. I have a Mac Book Pro and one of the "Edit" features is speaking. So whenever I had worked out a Spanish passage, I could have my computer read it all back to me - but, of course, even I could tell that the computer was WAY off on pronunciation. I was pleased that the Rosetta Stone system could SPEAK to me in Spanish - but I soon discovered that the headphones seemed to NOT be able to pick it up when I spoke back into the headset in order to practice MY pronunciation! I am not quite sure if this is just a drawback to using the headphone or if I need a new headphone. There appears to be no real way to tell.
