There is no biblical basis for this book. If you do read the book arm yourself first with the Bible. To fellow Christians, remember the Bible should be the authority that we judge all teachings by. If doctrine contradicts scripture it is not correct.

No other book has so engrossed my attention or been so enlightening. Don't think you're getting a DaVinci Code type book. This book asks the reader to take a fresh look at what Jesus was trying to say about His kingdom on earth here and now and His kingdom of the future. I've already finished the author's first book Generous Orthodoxy and am anticipating reading more of his work.

McClaren has said, that if people are happy being Muslim, or Buddhist or Jewish or atheist, he doesnt think its right to try to shoe-horn them out of their religion into Christianity. In other words, McClaren is in disagreement with Jesus who compels us to make disciples of all nations. The best review I can give of this fellow is to tell Christian brothers and sisters to consult Jude verse 4 in the Bible...it says it all.
