This a beautiful Bible for those who want a very detailed study Bible. It has the Life Application study notes which are also available for several other translations. Most of the study notes are in small print, but the Scriptures are in somewhat larger print, although not "large." (8 pt?) The words of Christ are in red. Many, many verses or groups of verses have study footnotes, and there are many additional study helps. The study features probably take up half this Bible, very good if you are looking to clarify specific passages, but a lot of reading if you are reading an entire book of the Bible and read all the study helps for it. (*see note)
For having so much content, this Bible is an excellent size, larger than a personal size, but not huge. Its dimensions are 9.5 x 6.5 x 2". The ebony Renaissance leather cover feels very luxurious, the best I've seen on a Bible, and worth the extra cost imo. (great sale price) It's very supple and flexible, and the Bible lies open nicely at any place.
Another plus is this is the 1984 NIV translation, which I much prefer over the less accurate 2011 revision, and which may become unavailable later.
This is an unusually nice NIV study Bible!
*Note: Although I'm an adult, when reading longer passages I like the "student Bible, NIV 1984", such as #WW938569--just the right amount of briefer, informative study helps for all ages, in 9 pt print. It doesn't have a premium cover.

The Life Application Study Bible has some of the best quality notes of any study bible on the market. The notes are practical and relevant and also informative. I have been using it for many years as a pastor and find it to be a great source of insight. If you can only afford one study bible, this is the one to get!

This is a great Bible to give to someone as a gift. It is the 1984 NIV translation, so a good translation. Should last for years. I bought a similar one about 1990, I've used it almost every day since and it's still in good shape. I find the study notes extremely helpful during personal devotions and studying to teach.

Have been searching forever for a brown alligator-patterned Bible, and I finally found it! The only gripe I have is that the pages are extremely thin. As with any book, no one wants to see the type from the next page bleeding through, and unfortunately, that is the case. However, this is often the way things are with personal-sized Bibles, no matter the publisher. So it is going to be important to find writing materials that will be dedicated to any markings made on these pages. I've already found that highlighting pencils will be the best way to go to minimize bleeding.
I think this Bible would easily be enjoyed by men and women alike.

I have tried this bible because of the great reviews. I have only started using it, but I can already tell I will love it. Paper is a bit thin but the content is great. Makes up for the quality of the material. It has both a study and application material to use. I have wanted to grow more in both knowledge and spirit, and I think I may have found the right one for me. Thanks!

I love the Bible. the cover is soft fine leather.the commentary is great and ensightful .but the pages are to thin and you can see through them from the other side the words come through the other side.overall though its great.

The Life App. Study Bible is the only one I recommend to anyone. It has wonderful foot notes. I do a Jail Bible Study and bought this one for an inmate. She had so many questions and with this Bible, she is now an active part of our Bible study. She looks up footnotes and gladly offers explanations to those who need it. It is the link she needed to learn. I wish I could buy them by the case for all those who pass through the Jail, but unfortunately this is unaffordable. If there is a need to learn the Bible and the messages it offers, this is the one that has what you need.
