My experience with this purchase has been all positive. From the website, engraving, quality and phone help everything has been excellent. I have now purchased two NIV 1984 bibles from Christianbook.com and am very satisfied. It is one of the only places that I can still find the 1984 version.

I love this Bible but the corners of the cover tend to curl up so I have to keep a heavy book on top when not in use. I find it easy to follow the study notes and find them very helpful in getting a clearer understanding of the passage. Great value for the money.

I've had this same Bible for years and loved it. I purchased this particular Bible as a gift for my adult daughter, and she loves it also. The study notes enrich your understanding of other peoples thoughts and ideas as it pertains to history and cultures and helps one to understand passages that are difficult to grasp. Bravo!

I do not like that the 2011 NIV is now gender neutral. I do not plan on buying it. I have used the NIV Study Bible since 1984. Hence I had to get a copy of the older 1984 version before they are gone because mine was falling apart.

I bought this Bible for my wife. She wanted something that had the cross-references, Red Letters, indexes and more. Also, she did not want something that would be too big. This Bible was perfect for her and she really enjoys it now.

My husband has used this style study bible for years. The binding has been worn to threads on the original one. I ordered him a new one for Christmas but failed to ensure it was large print...my error. I noticed this morning the old worn bible with large print was opened for his morning study. I had the new bible engraved with his name as I had the old one; so it cannot be returned.

This Bible was a gift for my 11 yr old daughter. She attends a Christian School and needed a study Bible for her class. Even though the book is thick and kind of heavy, she 'loves' it. The translation is easy for her to read, and full of study notes and an in-depth topical index. This is a Bible that she will not outgrow, but with which she can grow. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great study Bible.

As a study Bible it is excellent, it has history notations, translation notations and references. The references are on the same page as the verse so there is no having to move from page to page for information. If there are any short-comings about the book itself, the paper is very thin and very slick. This makes it difficult to turn pages and almost impossible to add my own notes. I would have liked a Bible with indented chapter tabs and have had to add my own. The delivery was just as expected. Overall I'm happy with my purchase.
