This is a beautiful Bible, well made, but has an offensive odor. Probably because of a solvent that was used in the ink or the color that made the pages look antique. I had to return this Bible for that reason.

The Bible is the Word of God. Today it is called; "The King James Version" in order to mock it. This KJV Archaeological Study Bible has notes that bring into question the text of God's Word. e.g.-suggesting that creation days were not 24 hour days. If you want a good Bible, get a King James with no margin notes at all. All "study bibles" contain notes that contradict the text. They can destroy your faith by causing you to doubt God's Word, just as Satan did to Eve in Genesis 3. Exodus 20:11 tells us;"For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day" There is no room for evolution in the Bible. There is no room for evolution in margin notes, either.

Please read from all of the previews available. The notes and commentary on this Bible are written from a somewhat skeptical standpoint. "IF Moses did indeed write/compile Genesis..." "The length of the creative days of Genesis 1 is not specified in the Bible...The Hebrew word for "day" may mean..." It, however, DOES support creation rather than any form of evolution. Some of the highlighted and enlarged "ancient voices" quotes are offensive to me as they are the voices of anyone in the ancient world, may be perverted, distorted, or untrue, and yet are more prominent than the scripture itself. I WAS excited about this product... I am offended by the marriage of distortion with the Truth and am not so sure that the other interesting and helpful information is worth it to me in this format. It is like keeping offensive bookmarks in a Bible. I think I would use it for reference but not as a Bible.

I bought this book as a gift for a skeptic history professor of mine. He is a wonderful person and former Christian but has since became skeptical about God and His Word. Because this book has much history/archaeology, etc. I thought this Bible would be perfect for him. He was very excited to receive it and seemed very excited to read it. I hope and pray that he reads it and that God works on his heart.

This is not a book to read lightly, or leisurly. There is great historical help in understanding the Bible, with the how, where and when, and history of Bible we love, but often read piece-meal. Great for getting to know better what the Bible is all about, and why.

This is a nice and unique study bible. Pages are very well laid out and the coloring is nice. The bonded cover is stiff. The value is great cause CB continues to deliver. Can't say enough about them, I've bought several bibles from here and never had a problem.

This book is very helpful when reading with the bible verses because it helps in understanding what was happening in the world at the time the book was written or what was going on with the individual who wrote the book. A great study bible for those interested in archeology and history. I love seeing each verse numbered on the left and not in paragraph form as well. The publisher has left more white space between sentences making this version very easy on the eyes. My copy is bonded leather and it seems to have a few issues. It is a bit stiff, so after reading it when the bible lays flat on the table, the cover curls backward. Hopefully it will break in in time.

I have wanted one of these for years. The additional notes about archeological discoveries and sites makes the bible come alive. It gives me a place on a map to understand what the bible is saying. It helps me to better understand about living conditions, building types, and how things were at the time.
