I read this book and then got some friends to go through it with me as a small group. Now I've bought multiple copies to give to family and friends for Christmas presents.

Max Lucado has always been able to grab my attention with his writing style. He Chose the Nails was the same way. This book goes into details about the symbolism of the cross, from the soldiers spit, to the crown, to the sign on the cross, as well as the two other crosses, the nails and a few other things, the thought process walks us to the rest of the title, "What God did to Win Your Heart."
This book really paints a picture of how much God loved us and what He was willing to do for us. The love that the cross shows comes out in this short, fifteen chapter, easy to read book. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about the crucifixion.
This book is a good read, not only for a new Christian but also for those who are ready for a fresh perspective, or those who need a new look at the cross. A device meant for torture, God used to bring us to Him.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with the love of God. This book will lead you to open your eyes and realize the true meaning of the title of the book.

This book is more great wisdom from Max Lucado. I have never read one of his books that I was not completely satisfied with his message. I especially appreciate his personal anecdotes. I highly recommend this book, as well as all of his other writings.

I'm becoming a fan of Max Lucado. This book is a well written with a devotional quality that will help the reader connect with Jesus and the cross. It is almost like a well crafted set of sermons where real life today meets the biblical narrative of Jesus.
There is plenty in here that can be reflected on year after year and not just at Easter time. An excellent book to have.

He Chose the Nails: by Max Lucado
All I can say is wow you have done it again Max Lucado. This book is another must read. We sometimes forget the true cost and what God has done for us. He Chose the Nails is a reminder of that cost. It will make an impact in on you. He Chose the Nails is written on Jesus last days and how His last days opened the door to our chance to live forever in God’s presence. I am a great fan of Max Lucado’s books and when another book is placed on the shelves I normally will pick it up and add it to my collection. He Chose the Nails is another book added to the many other books I have. Many people have written about the last days of Jesus but not like Max Lucado. In one part to the book he writes He knew the price of those sins was death. He knew the source of those sins was you, and since he couldn’t bear the thought of eternity without you, He chose the nails. Max Lucado really makes the reader realize the cost of the Cross. He also points out that God gives us a choice just like he gave the thieves a choice one chose to mock Jesus the other asked for forgiveness, and we also have a choice. Do not pass this book up it is a great read it is a reminder of what God has done for us so that we can spend eternity with Him. Their are so many good parts of this book, but I really would like for you to read them. Do not pass it up.

He Choose the Nails is another insightful book by Max Lucado. The cover of this book drew me in. There is a picture of a cross made out of nails and a crown made of barbed wire. Max explains how someone left a cross on his desk years ago along with a note. This cross is what is pictured on the front cover. It is an interesting story that you can read about in the “Acknowledgements” section. I really enjoyed reading this book around Easter time as it was a good reminder of what Jesus did for us. In this book Max describes the details of the crucifixion by breaking it down into the promises of God. Each chapter describes God’s promise such as “God’s Promise in the Soldiers’ Spit, God’s Promise in the Crown of Thorns, etc.” I thought the whole book was good but the last chapter titled “What Will You Leave at the Cross?” and the “Final Words” really impacted me. I found them to be very powerful and encouraging.
I cannot say enough good things about this book. I have always enjoyed Max’s style of writing as it really speaks to me. I enjoy the personal nature of his books as he draws from his personal experiences to drive a point home. I encourage you to read this book to gain another perspective on how much Jesus loves you.
